Privacy policy

This policy explains which personal data Pear3D collects when you use quote.pear3d.ch, our online quoting and ordering tool, and what we do with it. We follow the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for customers in the EU, the GDPR.

1. Who is responsible

2. What we collect

Your account: name, email address and a scrambled form of your password (we can't read it). If you add them: phone number, company and postal address.
Sign in with Google (only if you choose it): Google tells us your name, your email address and an ID for your Google account. We get no password and no other data from your Google account.
Your projects: the 3D models, photos, sketches and documents you upload, your messages to us, the quotes we make and your orders.
Technical data: your IP address and the time of your requests, kept to keep the site running and to block abuse (for example too many login attempts).

3. Why we use it

To give you prices, prepare quotes, make and deliver your parts, and answer your questions (to fulfil our contract with you).
To send you emails about your account and your projects, such as confirmation codes, quotes and replies. We don't send newsletters or advertising.
To keep the site secure and working (our legitimate interest).
To keep the records the law requires for invoices and bookkeeping.

Your files are used only to quote and produce your order. We don't share or publish them, and we don't use them for anything else.

4. Where your data is stored

The site and its data run on our own server in Switzerland. We use these service providers:

Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) connects visitors to our server and protects it from attacks. Your requests pass through its network, which can include servers outside Switzerland.
Infomaniak (Infomaniak Network SA, Switzerland) sends and receives our email.
Google (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, USA): sign-in, only if you choose it. The fonts of these pages come from our own server.
Public code libraries (cdnjs by Cloudflare, jsDelivr, Tailwind CSS) provide the code that draws the pages and the 3D preview. Your browser loads it from them, which sends your IP address to them; they get none of your account data or files.
If we ship your order, the carrier gets your name, address and, if needed, phone number.

Where data is processed in a country without adequate data protection (such as the USA), this happens on the basis of standard contractual clauses or similar safeguards of the provider.

5. Cookies

We use two cookies: one keeps you logged in and protects the forms against misuse, the other remembers the language you chose. Both are needed for the site to work. We don't use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies.

6. How long we keep it

Your account and projects: until you ask us to delete them.
Invoices and the order details they need: 10 years, as Swiss law requires.
Technical data such as IP addresses: a few weeks at most, unless we need it to investigate an attack.

7. Your rights

You can ask us at any time which data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, receive a copy, or object to its use. Write to [email protected]. You can also correct most of your details yourself under "My account".

If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch) or, in the EU, to the data protection authority of your country.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, the new version appears on this page with a new date.
